Full text

Mr Walter Mason, the well-known wood-engraver, died very suddenly at his residence, Stanley-street, Woolloomooloo on last Monday evening. Mr Mason was justly considered one of, if not the very best of his profession in Australia. Specimens of his work have appeared in every issue of this journal, and at the time of his death he was engaged on one for the present issue. As an artist and as a man his loss will be felt and deservedly regretted.
