THE SYDNEY MAGAZINE of SCIENCE and ART – The publisher begs to inform the Subscribers to this periodical that the Number of this month will contain several elaborately executed woodcuts. Owing to a very severe domestic affliction, the artist entrusted with this execution (Mr W. G. Mason) is unable to finish them in time for publication. A few days delay will, therefore, take place. The number will contain the following papers: - The Panama Route – Annual Report of the Horticultural Society – Copy of Petition respecting the Model Farm – Mr Henry Badgery on the Cultivation of the Potato – Mr F. Creswick on the Cabbage Blight – Mr A. Roberts on the Nature and Structure of the Venom Apparatus in Serpents, with elaborate description of several Australian specimens, Illustrated with several wood engravings – Description of a Stumping Machine, by Mr Edwin Hickey, with an engraving – Dr Gunst on the Cultivation of the Sorghum Saccharitan, with an engraving – Chemistry applied to Agriculture, by Frederic Muspratt, F.C.S.L. – On Oxone – Proceedings of the Horticultural Society and Philosophical Society of New South Wales – Wore’s Patent Grate, for burning wood, with an illustration – Meteorogical Table for Sydney for the month of July, and Hearth Table for the same month, &c., &c.
