Exhibition invitation: Murray Griffin, The Studio, Heidelberg 1981.

Griffin produced a number of prints which were incorporated into exhibition catalogues or invitations. The catalogue used for the Sedon Galleries 1951 and Moreton Galleries 1952 exhibition was illustrated with a rough print of two penguins, while the Murphy Street Print Room 1974 invitation included a flying hawk. The Hawthorn City Gallery 1973 exhibition catalogue is inscribed with text from a handout block, presumably by Griffin. However, this invitation is the only object which was produced solely by Griffin. Produced for a 1981 display of works in his studio, Griffin accompanied the written and printed text with a simple crouching figure, who resembles those depicted in The journey works.
