Helen Grey-Smith

 

Born in Coonor, India in 1916, Helen Grey-Smith studied at the London School of Interior Decoration from 1937 to 1939. It was here that she met and married the artist Guy Grey-Smith, with whom she moved to Western Australia in 1948. From 1952 to 1953 she studied textile printing at the Hammersmith School of Art.

Chiefly a textile printer, by both block and screen, she has done four screenprints since 1954. Her works are represented in the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Queensland Art Gallery.
