FREE CHURCH.— A very good lithographic engraving of the New Scotch Church, at the corner of Harrington and Bathurst-streets, has been published, entitled CHALMER'S FREE CHURCH, and inscribed to the Reverend Mr Nicholson, the present very able preacher, who is destined to officiate in it as minister. The tower is somewhat too low for the aspect, and it strikes us might be much improved by a steeple; but it is in every respect well arranged and commodiously fitted up, and does great credit to the contractor, Mr. Fairchild, as well as the parties superintending its erection and the interior arrangements. It is, we learn, expected that the Reverend Mr. Salmon will come down from Sydney to be present at its opening.[The Courier (Hobart), 21 February 1852, page 3].
