LITHOGRAPH ENGRAVINGS. _ -A serios of six tinted lithographs views, with a fancy wrapper, has just- been published by Mr. J. R. Clarke. The drawings are by Mr. F. C. Terry, the author of a series of pictures of the environs of Sydney, known as the name of the "Australian Keepsake." The views before us represent some of the most picturesque spots on the Parramatta River. The landscape scenery is in general effective, the gradations of shade and the stronger lights being carefully preserved. The view of Parramatta is decidedly the best of the series, groups of houses, trees, and boats being less difficult to render successfully than mere alternations of bush and water, as it is impossible to convey the romantic effect of the latter, except by the aid of colours. It is sufficient to say that some of these scenes are drawn as well as they could be drawn in lithograph, and are very creditable specimens of Australian art.[Empire (Sydney), 19 November 1856, page 4, column 6].
