Abstract

Canola isn’t the only commodity quoted in Canadian dollars. Captain James Wallis’s own copy of his An Historical Account of the Colony of New South Wales, published in London in 1821, was bought by the State Library of New South Wales on 17 October for $1,800,000 Canadian. The State Library took the unusual step of announcing, before the sale, that it would bid for the items.
