Production notes

Possibly the frontispiece to François Mingaud, ,Noble jeu de billard. [David Hansen].
The printed image has been cut from a publication and prepared for photography to create a printing block. The red ink is from a ballpoint pen, so probably in the 1950s.

Inscriptions or device subsequently added to the work

inscribed in black pencil, ‘M. Mingaud / inventor of Billiard Cue tip'.
inscribed lower left in red ink, ‘Cut / away’.
inscribed upper centre around image in red ink, ‘cut / out / all / round’.
