'This large woodcut is made by carving 9 blocks to make a complete image and joining the resulting printed sheets without margins. The separate sheets of paper are joined in three rows of three. / cut from blocks of marine plywood / printed on Kozo paper in black Schminke water based ink / [coloured sets are] hand coloured with powdered fresco pigment mixed with water and caseine binder applied from the verso of the print.'
