Biography

Bernard Sahm

Born in Sydney in 1926 Bernard Sahm studied at East Sydney Technical College, graduating in ceramics and sculpture. He received further training at the Crowon Pottery with Harry and May Davis in England and at Gutenhalde Pottery in Germany, and since 1962 has been involved in solo and group exhibitions including overseas travelling exhibitions. From 1964-76 he taught with the Ceramics Department, East Sydney Technical College and in 1977 became Senior Lecturer and Head of Ceramics at the Sydney College of the Arts.
Bernard Sahm has won important awards and is represented in most Australian state art museums.
