Biography

Blatant Image was primarily involved in hand-screen printing cards designed by Richard Baldwin and Moira Nelson between 1986 -1989. The cards were sold to local travelers up and down the NSW Far North Coast through markets and retail shops. The designs focused on the local lifestyle, flora and fauna as well as icons such as the Byron Bay Lighthouse. Blatant Image used newly available screen printing inks that were bright and water-based, keeping with the local colour and lifestyle of the coast.
