Biography

ELIZABETH BURTON born 1956, Grafton, first exhibition 1991 Hobart painting & printmaking. The artists recurrent themes applied to all mediums are flowers, landscapes and natural habitats. Diploma in Botanical Illustration and has studied under several major artists and printmakers worldwide over the ensuing period, with particular interest in portraying the Australian and the Italian landscape - their similarities and differences, cultural influences, traditional and contemporary technique in all disciplines. In Italy the artist specialises in traditional stone lithography, maniera nera and incisione while also teaching watercolour and artists’ book techniques. [Impress Printmakers, 2019].
