Biography
Evan Brindle was 30 years of age when convicted at the Lancaster Assizes, 26 March 1836, for the murder of Robert Howson, a game keeper while poaching. He was sentenced for Life and was transported on the <i>John (4)</i> arriving in Sydney on 7 February 1837. Married with 4 children he is listed as a calico printer and it was noted that he could read and write.
