THE APPROACHING REGATTA - We under-

stand that Mr. J. W. Deering, lithographic artist, of this

city, proposes to produce a plate of the grand sailing

match which takes place on Friday next, and from a

specimen of that gentleman's work, viz., the 'Jason

arriving at Malta with troops for the Crimea,' and now

hung in Green's Exchange, we feel convinced that he will

produce a very excellent and truthful likeness of the

event; and we hope that the public will give such sup-

port as will induce him on future similar occasions to

employ his pencil for the cultivation of the art in South

Australia.
