Elizabeth Rooney

Born in Sydney in 1929, Elizabeth Rooney studied at the East Sydney Technical College until 1949, where in 1948-49 she studied etching with Herbert Gallop. She helped Joy Ewart to establish etching facilities at the Workshop Art Centre, Willoughby, NSW, and held her first exhibition of etchings there in 1963.

By 1976 she had made about 250 prints in various media. Rooney has participated in group exhibitions both in Australia and internationally.
