Abstract

Now in its third year, the Port Jackson Press Australia Graduate Printmaking Award 2010 offers printmaking graduates who have just completed their studies, the professional experience of exhibiting in a commercial gallery along with a $4000 cash prize, and a full-page feature article in Imprint, kindly sponsored by the Print Council of Australia. This award is acquisitive and is open to any student who majored in printmaking and completed their course of study in 2009 at any tertiary institution in Australia.

The panel of three judges who will select the award recipient are Des Cowley, Rare Printed Collections Manager, State Library of Victoria; Graham Fransella, Melbourne Based Artist; and Anne Virgo, Director, Australian Print Workshop. [Gallery media, 2010]

The winner of the PJP Graduate Printmaking Award 2009 was Clare Humphries, who entered Will to survive, 2009, a reduction linocut and polymer relief print, unique state, 117 x 123 cm
