Abstract
Nicholas Nedelkopoulos was born in Melbourne of Greek parents. His finely, obsessively detailed etchings depicting the dreams, frustrations and disappointments of life are cutting comments by a 'new Australia' being brought up in the 'land of promise'. The exhibition, drawn from the collection of the National Gallery of Australia, includes his series Whipping tiny trees and The distance between smiles.
